We wish you a Merry Christmas! (2008)

The Christmas party was really fun.  The food was great (Mexican theme) and the gifts were fun.  We celebrated Grandma's birthday also.  (The party was great, my photo's could use some work.)  All of the new "couples" were at the party.  Kristi and Scott got married last December.  The rest you know about.

The last picture is of our family now.  Three married, three to go, but no rushing!

Oh Christmas Tree.....

We went to Idaho to get Christmas trees again this year.  We all found such great trees.  It is lots of fun.  I thought the girls might not want to do it this year with all the other stuff going on, but they all did.  Steve and Jeni Young, and the Romreill's went with us this year.  Craig and Becca, Matt and Marie went on their own.  This is Megan and Tyler with their little tree.  Some of us admit that our trees are great "corner" trees.  Three sides look really good, but the back is pretty sparse.  It works out though, because we can push them right into the corner and they don't take up very much space.  Perfect!

Stu and his daughters.

That was before the wedding of Craig and Becca.  Stu gets two more daughters.  He says Ya hoo!  He looks like he is pretty satisfied doesn't he?

Matt and Marie are next in line

Aren't they great?

A little closer picture

Megan and Tylers wedding

Megan and Tyler's wedding was really great.  The day was so pretty.  Their ceremony was in the morning.  Then the luncheon, then the reception.  They left and we didn't see or hear from them until the next Friday at the open house in Nevada.  Everything went very well.  We had lots of fun.  We had great adventures on the way home from Nevada, but that is a different story.  Megan and Tyler have been married for four months now, and it seems like they have been always together.

Who remembers this road?

The Maughan's Kids?

The day before Thanksgiving the Melvin and Catherine Maughan children and most of the spouses were able to be together for a dinner.  It was lots of fun.  Curtis, Clair, Stuart and Donna and I (Elva) spent the day traveling through the old Maughan haunts.  The boys (ha! ha!) had great fun seeing the old house and fields.  They even found some of the old cars up in the field.  The old Lava homestead is a beautiful place.   We missed Alva, but everyone else was there.  We are looking forward to next year.
Here we all are at the temple for Craig and Becca's wedding.  It was a beautiful day.  We didn't even need coats!  We had an open house in Mendon on Friday night, the ceremony on Saturday morning, the luncheon, then the reception on Saturday night. It was fun to see everyone.  (We had some competition with the BYU vx. U of U game.)  Everything was very nice.

Matt and Marie are engaged!  We don't have pictures yet, but we will get some.  Matt just had a birthday and he is making me feel old!  I can't believe I have a child that old.  What ever!!!!   We don't have pictures of Megan's wedding available yet.  I better get on the ball with my camera!  We will get those (probably at Craig's wedding).

We saw a lot of cool things. Buffalo at our car door, long horn sheep crossing the road, fun parks, cool tunnels, huge rocks. The thing that was most amazing to me was the forest. Do you know they actually had to clean out the forest from trees? There were piles of trees in some places, then burn circles in other places (where they burned the piles). Other places that hadn't yet been cleaned had trees so thick you couldn't see through them. See in this picture all the little green things? Those are little trees! They grow that thick! I was so amazed. They are like weeds there. Wow!

vacation

Yeah! We went on a real vacation. We went to South Dakota. It was very enjoyable. It was cloudy and rainy part of the time, but I loved that. We got to see Mount Rushmore and some beautiful country. We felt bad that all of our family couldn't come with us, but at least we had the two girls.

This is such a pretty time of year. My tulips bloom just a little latter than many others, but when they come up they are so pretty! I love to look out the bedroom window. The crab apple tree is also beautiful in the spring with it's pink blossoms. I love Saturdays also because that is the day (usually) that we work in the yard and mow the lawn and for maybe 3 minutes it feels like the weeds are managed and everything looks great and smells great.
