An update

I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted anything! Time just keeps marching along and sometimes I get so caught up in the march steps I don't stop to enjoy where I am going.

Carin has just finished her last day of school at South Cache Center (9th grade). She is very excited about the summer break. She has been dancing, on point classical, and lyrical.

So, Annie is leaving on a mission this month. In twelve days in fact. She will leave on Stu's and my 33 wedding anniversary. (Does that have any meaning? I doubt it.)

Alexis left on a mission to Milwaukee and has been back for over a year now. She is in her last bit of college - for her bachelor's degree. She loves hiking rock climbing.

Craig and Becca are leaving for Arkansas in about twelve days. They have a cute son, Calder, and are expecting a new baby. The doctor's ultrasound says it is a girl. Calder is sure it is a girl.

Megan and Tyler are living in Texas and Tyler is starting his final year of school. They have a darling daughter, Avery. We are excited to get to know her better when they come to live in Utah for Tyler to do an externship at the Veterans hospital.  We are really looking forward to that.

Matt and Marie are working like crazy. Matt has a new position that he likes, but it is crazy hours. Marie works days and goes to school at nights. They are fixing and redoing their house. It is so amazing the things they think of and do. It looks great!

Stu had a job for two years, then when the economy caught up with the company, his position was deleted. Now he is looking for another job, but enjoying his temporary retirement. He is putting a flat be on  his salt delivery truck. He is enjoying the job. He likes delivering salt also.

I am working six hours a day doing contract sales and marketing for an ebay company based in our neighborhood. We also sell things internationally. I enjoy it. I work some hours each week calling and scheduling salt deliveries for Stu. And I work on his books so I can do the taxes easier.

We went on a vacation to San Diego, California the week before we learned Stu was being laid off.  We had a great time. We went to Sea World, the temple, and spent time at the beach. We were with Steve and Jeni Young and family.

So, now you are caught up.

Fun Summer

We have had a fun summer so far. We went with Stu and the American West Fesitval Choir that he sings in to Idaho Falls and Sunvalley. We stayed with Curt and Donna in Idaho Falls. Then we went up to Sunvalley and stayed one night in the lodge. It was pleasant, though rainy. Even the swans wanted to be under cover. Curt and Donna invited us to come and spend the 4th of July with their family. We had been told that until you see Idaho Falls fierworks, you have not really seen fireworks. (They were pretty spectacular.) It was so fun to spend time with them and their family.

We had a family reunion for the Maughan side of the family at the park. It is amazing how fast everyones families are growing. We missed Clair and his family, but we had quite a few of the other families. Pam and Ralph had their whole family there. Janet was only missing one (Helen was in Switzerland) Stu and I missed Alexis (she was at work). Although Curt had the most kids come last year, this year he did not. We will work to get the date to you sooner so that everyone can plan it in their schedule.

We had a Young family reunion at Pineview Resivour. It was just right. We had a nice campsite that was shady most of the day. It was even cool one night. Grandpa and Grandma brought pizza up for lunch on Saturday. It was a big hit and everyone had as much as they wanted.

All of our family but Mathew were able to come for the Mendon celebration. It is a fun day. They started out with the 5K run. Even Stu ran at the last minute. He couldn't walk for a few days after that, but it was worth it. Craig came in 1st in his age group. (He is getting kind of old.)He was fourth overall. Alexis was next, then Megan and Becca, then Stu. They all had fun. We spent the morning at the park. Stu was in charge of the frisbee golf tournament. Next we watched the parade, then Stu and I danced in the "great race" which our neighborhood won - again. Carin stayed at the park all day, the rest of us came home and relaxed. We went back to the park later in the afternoon to play bingo and watch baseball and fireworks.

We wish you a Merry Christmas! (2008)

The Christmas party was really fun.  The food was great (Mexican theme) and the gifts were fun.  We celebrated Grandma's birthday also.  (The party was great, my photo's could use some work.)  All of the new "couples" were at the party.  Kristi and Scott got married last December.  The rest you know about.

The last picture is of our family now.  Three married, three to go, but no rushing!

Oh Christmas Tree.....

We went to Idaho to get Christmas trees again this year.  We all found such great trees.  It is lots of fun.  I thought the girls might not want to do it this year with all the other stuff going on, but they all did.  Steve and Jeni Young, and the Romreill's went with us this year.  Craig and Becca, Matt and Marie went on their own.  This is Megan and Tyler with their little tree.  Some of us admit that our trees are great "corner" trees.  Three sides look really good, but the back is pretty sparse.  It works out though, because we can push them right into the corner and they don't take up very much space.  Perfect!

Stu and his daughters.

That was before the wedding of Craig and Becca.  Stu gets two more daughters.  He says Ya hoo!  He looks like he is pretty satisfied doesn't he?
